Visited this place on 1st and 2nd of May for 2 night stay, we were a family of 8 people including an elderly couple. While booking I had kept a priority that the place which I would select shall not have many steps that limits the physical movement of my grandparents and all people should relax and have a great time together. In all terms I was satisfied and in many ways surprised with the hospitality, cleanliness, food and location of Forest Homestay. Right from the booking, travel, stay, sightseeing, food and activities everything was smoothly handled and very well done. Dileep is an excellent caretaker who treats everything with smile, be it the malnad cuisine, sightseeing suggestions, plan etc, Best thing is that they are extremely proactive and constantly checking whether you need something or need anything. Anju and Deekshit are very helpful and offer great support. Everything is perfect and the entire family was extremely satisfied. One suggestion: use GPS navigation before you start from Sakleshpur to find out the route otherwise you will get confused with many small roads and you may not get signal too..

This place is not very far from Banglaore; about 5 hours drive Best part = Service, food Good part = places to see around; there are a couple of trek points which you can go with some help from people there in the homestay itself, there are some activities available there as well <like archery, badminton etc., - they have the required items; but no special ground or court; there;s enough space outside the rooms to play> not-so-good part = place is fairly new so you might miss on certain things <which don't really matter in the end> Overall, definitely worth visiting this place and spending a night or couple..

We visited Chikmagalur during the May 1st weekend and put up at the new Forest Homestay at Sakhleshpur. We were immensely happy with our stay there with the vast expanses of fields and forest and not a soul in sight, we possibly couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. If you want to spend your time in the lap of luxury, this is probably not the place for you. However, if you’re looking for some quality time with clean surroundings, great service and some lip-smacking food, you would want to go back again and again. A special mention to Dilip who is an extremely jovial guy and made our stay quite comfortable. He shared some great stories and overall, it was really great. It would be gross injustice not to mention Keerthi (the cook). I will definitely go back again and again for the pork curry and pork barbecue made by Keerthi. It was heaven on a platter. Overall, brilliant service, thanks to Dilip, and brilliant food, thanks to Keerthi – I would rate this place a 9.5 on 10.\ One suggestion – please put up a signboard enabling the visitors to take the right turn to the homestay. Oh and, swimming pool?? I don't think so.. :-)
